We welcome the opportunity to work directly with you to better understand your philanthropic dreams, interests and priorities while helping you structure your support for maximum impact.
With you by our side, we will be there – whenever and however the young people of Canada may need us.

Bequest in your will
A bequest in your will is the most common type of estate gift. It’s a commitment made to Kids Help Phone to be distributed by your estate upon your death. A bequest may be a specific sum of money, a piece of property or a percentage of your residual estate. Most people make a bequest when their will is created or when significant life events cause a will to be updated or changed.
Here are some examples of bequest wording to help you get started and to review with your lawyer or estate planner:
To give a specific amount
“I give to Kids Help Phone, 439 University Avenue, Suite 300, Toronto, Ontario, the sum of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) to be used for the benefit of fulfilling their mission.”
To give a percentage of the estate
“I give to Kids Help Phone, 439 University Avenue, Suite 300, Toronto, Ontario, twenty percent (20%) of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate to be used for the benefit of fulfilling their mission.”
To give a specific asset, such as shares in a company
“I give to Kids Help Phone, 439 University Avenue, Suite 300, Toronto, Ontario, 500 shares of ABC Co. Inc, to be used for the benefit of fulfilling their mission.”
For a gift contingent upon a certain condition
“In the event that my brother does not survive me, I give $100,000 to Kids Help Phone, 439 University Avenue, Suite 300, to be used for the benefit of fulfilling their mission.”
To designate your gift for a specific purpose
“I give to Kids Help Phone, 439 University Avenue, Suite 300, Toronto, Ontario, the sum of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) to be used in support of phone counselling.”
We suggest that you add a “Power to Vary” clause, for example “If at the time of my death it is impossible, impractical or inadvisable to apply the gift to this purpose, Kids Help Phone may at their discretion direct the gift to a similar purpose.”
Gift of life insurance
A gift of life insurance will enable you to make a significant gift through a policy you already own or through a series of affordable premium payments. There are a number of ways to donate and plan your gift using life insurance. The easiest way is to name Kids Help Phone as the beneficiary and advise the institution holding your life insurance plan of the change.
RRSPs and RRIFs
It’s easy to donate proceeds of your registered retirement savings plan (RRSP) and registered retirement income fund (RRIF) to Kids Help Phone. Simply change the beneficiary information on the plan document to Kids Help Phone and advise the institution holding your retirement account of the change.
